Welcome to us Erik Flinck

[Who are you?]

I’m Erik Flinck, based in Gothenburg. I’m a cybersecurity professional with a strong interest in technology, security and building things, both professionally and in my spare time.

I’ve always been curious about how things work and, perhaps even more importantly, how they can be improved. That curiosity has followed me throughout my career in cybersecurity and is still a big part of what motivates me today.

[What background do you have?]

I have a broad background in cybersecurity, with a particular focus on DevSecOps, application security, cloud security and security governance.

Before joining Onevinn, I worked at SKF, where I was Head of DevSecOps and built a global DevSecOps capability from the ground up. This involved everything from strategy and governance to security tooling, automation, developer enablement and integrating security into the software development lifecycle across a large global organization.

Over the years, I’ve worked at the intersection of security, development and business, and I particularly enjoy taking complex security challenges and turning them into practical solutions that people can actually use.

[What is your passion?]

My passion is making cybersecurity practical.

Security shouldn’t only be about policies, tools and finding vulnerabilities. The interesting part is figuring out how we can build security into the way organizations actually work, making the secure way the easiest and most natural way to do things.

I’m especially interested in DevSecOps, application security, cloud security, automation and the rapidly developing possibilities around AI and cybersecurity.

I also enjoy exploring new technology and trying to understand not only what it can do today, but where it might take us in the future.

[What do you do in your spare time?]

Technology tends to follow me home as well.

I’m very interested in making and digital fabrication, and I spend quite a bit of time experimenting with CNC machining, electronics, 3D printing and different design projects. There is something very satisfying about taking an idea from a sketch or CAD model and eventually holding the finished object in your hand.

I’m also a film enthusiast and collector, with a particular interest in movie props, figures and building displays and dioramas.

So even when I’m not working with technology professionally, there’s a good chance I’m building, designing or experimenting with something.

[Why Onevinn?]

I wanted to join a company where cybersecurity is at the core of what we do and where there is both deep technical expertise and an ambition to make a real difference for customers.

What attracted me to Onevinn was the combination of highly skilled people, a strong security focus and the opportunity to work with many different organizations and challenges.

After spending several years building and developing cybersecurity capabilities from inside a large global organization, I’m excited about bringing those experiences to Onevinn and helping customers solve their security challenges, while at the same time continuing to learn from some of the best people in the industry.

I’m really looking forward to what comes next.
