[Who are you?]
My name Christer Ljung, which is a tongue twister for non-Nordic people (think Lj=Y). I recently returned from Dublin and are now back in Sollentuna/Stockholm where I live with my wife Maria. Our three kids are not kids anymore and have moved out.
[What background do you have?]
I spent 22.5 years at Microsoft before joining Onevinn. Before that I had my own company, worked at Arete, Cap Gemini (90's), and Wang and IBM (80's), so it's been quite a journey since I started 1985. At Microsoft I had different roles in R&D, EMEA and MS Sweden, where I've been part of creating both Entra and Azure. I've been fortunate to work with customers in most corners of the world.
[What is your passion?]
Workwise, it's the marriage between technology and people, being able to make use of sometimes nerdy tech and create solutions with value for businesses and consumers. It is also collaborating with people in this process as you have more fun working in a group than alone.
[What do you do in your spare time?]
Coming from a sports background, I do enjoy physical activity as well as watching sports. I'm an addict for Summer Olympics and World Cup in Football, for instance. My wife tells me that I'm a history nerd which is why I plow through quite a lot of books. Connected to the history nerd part, I am a sucker for aviation and old prop planes, which is why you can see me on airshows like Duxford in September. There's nothing like the sound of a Merlin engine revving up. Finally, I love to travel and explore new places and countries. As an example, I only have 3 countries left in Europe to visit.
