One On One(vinn): Nicklas Ahlberg

Written by Karin Bui | 10 Jun 2026

It is said that a company is no greater than the people who work there. I’ve had the opportunity this year to sit down with some of the amazing individuals here at Onevinn. Join me as we get to know more about who they are, what they do and what they can share about their experiences in life.

Welcome to One on One(vinn) - Karin Bui Källkvist

Introduction

Nicklas Ahlberg is a Trusted Security Advisor at Onevinn since 2023, but his journey in IT started long before that.

“My interest in technology began at an early age, starting with what became my first (and still ongoing) role as the family’s IT support. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand technology, and I have a natural way of explaining things clearly. I believe this comes from a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for tech.”

Nicklas’ excitement for technology has led him to take on many different roles and challenges. He holds titles such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). He has also been recognized as an Official/Expert Contributor to the LinkedIn Modern Endpoint Management (MEM) group and has been a co-organizer of the MEM Summit since 2021.

A Trusted Security Advisor

Nicklas is part of the Client team at Onevinn, where his primary focus is helping organizations navigate the Intune landscape, ensuring they achieve an optimal and highly secure user experience.

When asked what people outside the industry might misunderstand about his role, Nicklas shares:

“One real surprise for many people is that being a Trusted Security Advisor isn’t just about Windows, iOS, or technical platforms. A large part of my time is spent working with people. I meet many individuals in different roles, and building trust, understanding concerns, and communicating clearly is just as important as the technology itself. IT security only really works when people feel heard, understood, and supported.”

He continues by describing the collaborative aspect of his work with customers:

“Being able to get out and run workshops with clients, you really get to experience their curiosity. Often, they come prepared with questions, and it turns into a conversation where you try to help them as best as you can to fins clarity. That creates a great exchange. I also get to learn a lot, since every customer has a unique situation, which allows you to be creative in your answers.”

A Part of Something Bigger

Nicklas’ involvement in the cybersecurity community is evident when looking at his track record. As mentioned earlier, he is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), and an Official/Expert Contributor to the LinkedIn Modern Endpoint Management (MEM) group. He is also a frequent speaker at events and regularly hosts webinars and writes blog posts on rockenroll.tech.

When talking about what motivates him, Nicklas highlights the importance of community:

“First and foremost, it’s the technology - that’s the red thread connecting everything. Everyone in the community shares this common interest, and that’s what ties us together.”

Nicklas describes his MVP journey as a rewarding experience, where collaboration, curiosity, and helping others succeed are at the center of everything. When asked for advice to someone just starting out, he says:

“I don’t believe anyone should aim for the MVP title itself. It’s important not to see it as an end goal. If you genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge, helping others, and contributing to the community, you should simply focus on that and recognition like the MVP award will come naturally at the right time.

To those just starting out, my encouragement is simple: be curious, be generous with what you know, and get involved in ways that feel natural to you. Focus on learning and contributing, not titles. The rest will follow.”

Talking more about the community, we move into Nicklas’ connection to the LinkedIn Modern Endpoint Management (MEM) group. As one of the co-organizers of the MEM Summit, I ask what made him want to get involved in organizing such a large event—and what he believes makes a great in-person conference:

“An in-person conference gives attendees the opportunity to learn both from the speakers on stage and from the conversations that happen in between sessions. I wanted to help create a platform where people don’t just attend sessions, but genuinely connect with one another.

From my perspective, a great in-person conference is one where learning and networking go hand in hand. When people from different IT backgrounds come together, share experiences, ask questions, and learn from each other - that’s when real value is created. I believe this is exactly what we’ve been able to achieve at MEM Summit, and it’s what makes the event so special.”

Another Part of Life

Outside of the IT world, Nicklas spends his time on activities that require both trust and patience. He is a coach for a children’s football team, enjoys barbecuing, and is a fan of the Ottawa Senators.

When talking about his role as a football coach for a group of 9-year-olds, I ask if there’s anything from that experience that he brings into his professional life:

“Trust the process. Each training session never turns out the way you expect—sometimes the drills are too difficult, and distractions are everywhere. You just have to be patient. Even if things don’t go exactly as planned, they always learn something—and a few weeks later, it sticks.”

Before wrapping up, I ask Nicklas if there’s anything he would like to do if time weren’t a limitation:

“I would participate in Memphis in May, the world’s biggest barbecue competition and I wouldn’t leave until I won.”

I’d like to thank Nicklas for sharing his experiences and taking the time to let us get to know him a bit better. It’s clear that with patience and passion, anything is possible.

We at Onevinn are proud to have Nicklas as part of our team, and we’re excited to see what he will achieve in the future.
